HVX Mustang GT Footage

1 Attachment(s)
As a side project of a recent product review, Kendal Miller and myself cut together a short Mustang GT spec spot using a HVX-200 and (some Z1U shots in there as well). Thought we'd share the footage here.

It's available in H.264 Quicktime format (20MB) and in Flash also. EDIT: Bandwidth is getting hammered, here's another mirror of the QT file.

Most was shot in 24p native, there is some 60p and various overcranked shots as well. Obviously the Sony HDV footage was 60i (probably 2-3 shots total).

Was that rental? LOL
You forgot the "professional driver - do not try this at home" disclaimer

Looks awesome, any coloring in post?

What program do you use for editing?

Ha! :-) Not a rental.
We found someone locally that was willing to drive his 'Stang hard. Jesse was an excellent driver, he did everything we asked, right on cue.

Not much on the HVX footage. Kendal has his camera tweaked out, the color only required a minor contrast bump and a touch more warmth on a few shots. Cut in FCP, used some AE for the flying titles. Glad you liked it.

Where were the in-country/winding road segments shot? You couldn't have picked a better location visually. We've got great weather typically in the Phoenix area, but we sorely lack any roadways this gorgeous. Wanna trade homes? (laughs)

Thanks Robert. Footage was shot around NW Arkansas, in the fall. It's a beautiful area, particularly that time of year.
Great sig quote. :-)

Matt, at approx 40 seconds into the spec. where the mustang accelerates there seems to be a perspective change effect.. was that post or in camera?

Cheers

Post. Well, both kinda. That particular shot was 60p, we speed ramped it while adding a zoom in post.

OK Matt - your clip is responsible for a dream I had last night - which is now turning into brainstorming a project built around those roads. Care to share the exact city/township those dipping-twisties live?
