Best High Capacity Battery for the HVX200

I saw the Panasonic CGA-D54s with a price of £139 on one English website and yet when I googled this model of battery I seen it for £22-£25 on other sites.

What is the best Battery and what is the best price anyone on the net in UK/Ireland??

Their claimed capacity is way higher than actual. We bought a number of them, they test about 2/3 of their sticker number.

Why would you buy some of them if you sell your own?

Seems like these generic batteries may bite into your business. For the money I think they are a deal.

I did a basic load test on the generics I have (cost $30) and they lasted 240 and 260 minutes respectively. I did the same load test on my Panasonic battery and it lasted 280, better. I did the test multiple times. All batteries are similar in age and workload.

Panasonic better ? I would hope so. Worth the difference ($70 or $90 vs $30) - No. They LOOK identical, my questions is - are they ? Does Specialized Communications make they own batteries ? In their back room ? Come on, we all know Specialized, DVXUSER, etc, all are just purchased generically somewhere and relabled with their label. ALL of these batteries, including the generics, have a ONE year warranty...

My experience is that I can buy three generics for almost the same price as one Specialized or Panasonic and get almost the same usage. . ..

Ha Ha The reason is when we bought them we did not look for high capacity, but consistency; needed a lot of them to test the chargers that we make. Each charger needs 4 batteries, we test several at the same time. About 20% of them were sent back immediately as they did not test even to 50% of their label claim. 2 or 3 died early death after about 10 - 20 cycles. A few Sony style disintegrated within a week as their round shape contact pins got loose and popped out.
As far as the other brands, they are not the same. Lenmar has 3 years warranty for example, and while they cost more than the "EBAY" ones, they are much less expansive than the Panasonics.

You can say what you will since you sell batteries but buying these things are like buying a pig in a poke. I dont believe -with respect to these type batteries - you always 'get what you pay for' - based on my experience.

thing with battery life is that it all dependson yoru recording cariables.. LCD vs EVF, Auto vs Manual, OIS on or off, 25/24p or interlaced (yes this DOES effect perfromance... ie, CPU grunt)
