Very through review about HPX555 on VideoAlpha magazine

Mr. Aida fro Upside wrote through lab review on HPX555 (a.k.a. HPX500) this month.

He states that HPX's image quality is somewhat similar to HVX200, but with the Fujinon CAC HD lens, the details seem to be little too enhanced even at all the parameters set to zero.

Tone look above its class as long as it's shot at favorable exposure, but the brighter range tends to loose some dimensions on skin tones and details in clouds. He states that if there’s more allowance in the levels of 85% to 100% it would be easier to control the shot (I personally think so, too).

It is sensitive enough and the dynamic range is ample, but he states that he would rather have negative 3dB from what it is to have better S/N ratio.

Some noises in the dark range, but he actually transfer to film and he didn’t recognize problems by checking the film, but mentions that for TV programs, it might run into problems if you’re not aware while shooting in the lighting condition is poor.

For CAC, he mentions that it works wonderfully. He tested two canon lenses and one Fujinon and CAC on all lenses worked well. He clearly states that CAC lenses provide one class higher quality with sharp and clear imaging.

Little skeptical translating by me, but I agree to pretty much everything he says besides I never tried the CAC lens yet.
