The is an advantage to Motion-JPEG. Under OS X, AVCHD gets converted to AIC losing a generation.

But, the real issue is that images are only captured at 25fps or 30fps. This ain't 720p50/720p60!

Is each frame simply repeated twice or is some kind of interpolation used. For example:

A long time ago I realized the long GOP encoding could create a "tween" image. Using two images 1/30th second apart, when motion vectors are generated the values can be halved to generate a frame 1/60th second between the two real images.

If only 25/30fps, the shutter-speed must be 1/25th or 1/30th which is impossibe.

What is you experience if you stand close to a hiway with rapidly moving cars? Do they move smoothly or in tiny jerks?
