Casio F1 after PMA

So how does the F1 look after seeing the toys coming to market?

1) The Sony HX1 looks very good at half the price, but no way to lock AE. No focus ring.

2) Canon SX1 -- I'd go with the Sony.

3) Pana GH1. Clearly the better camera, but no power zoom is a real pain. Also, could be 50% more expensive. Of course no slo-mo or pre-buffer. But, a real wide angle.

One of the questions about the F1. How does it get a video frame? Since the frame changes size when shooting video -- not just from going into 16:9 but because horizontal view becomes less wide -- it must be using only a portion of the pixels.

By itself, that's not a big deal. Assume the 6MP drops to 3MP-4MP -- we still have as many pixels as most FullHD cmos camcorders. But, from the D90 we know that video can be obtained from using only 1 of 8 pixels. Thus, we have no way of knowing if all 4MP are used or only perhaps 2MP pixels.
