That is really a misnomer, they produce a different type of light than a tungsten.
I know that there are comparisons between them saying that this flo light puts out the same as a X watt tungsten light, but they have different falloff levels and different coverage areas, and are a different quality of light. I use 110w biax fixtures like the one mentioned with a grid to control spill as a close source fill light quite often.
