It's a bit complicated and embarrassing.

I won't go into the detail except that lighting was until very recently, one of those "Do I need to know this right now? - No." things I left to others, - save to say 1.2K HMI is not the same as 12K HMI.

All this aside, I am trying to find without success, any web info or manuals for :-

Desisti 12K HMI "Rembrandt Model 2450" fresnel lamp.

"The Lightmaker" 12,000w/6,000w electronic ballast.

Think large stove or dishwasher for size. It most definitely will not go up on a redhead stand that's for sure.

I was contemplating reselling it. However despite it being not what I had thought it was, and it is apparently about the only one over here, things fall strangely and it may have found its niche.

We now hope to have it up and ready for a streetgang movie which looks like it will be shot on the SI2K.

Any leads on finding a manual and circuit diagrams for both the light and the ballast will be grealty appreciated. Both products are apparently now quite old, though in operable condition when shipped and do not seem to have been damaged.

The Desisti wbesite doesn't do anythying when I search on it and Lightmaker apparently went belly-up a while back.

You could always go back in time with regards to the Dessiti web site.

Likewise with the Lightmaker web site.

I can't help in terms of manuals but, at the risk of stating the obvious, you need to factor in to your budget the hire of a suitable generator for all the days you're shooting with the 12K or else a competent electrician to perform a tie-in where a sufficiently meaty electricity supply is available. A 1.2 or 2.5 can be used on low-budget guerilla productions - just plug 'em in and go - but a 12K is in a different league really.

Andrew.

Thanks for that link. I'll look it up. Both products were out and about before manufacturers and vendors were printing on-line manuals or .pdfs so unless someone has scanned paper versions, they may not be in an archive.

John.

Thanks for your response. Once I realised what I had on my hands I did the math and yes, it is industrial league power required. Much of the movie will likely be shot on a contained lot where there is 3phase industrial power available. One of the producer-actors also has access to industrial generators.
