Slim on-camera LED light

I'm on the market for a slim and portable on-camera LED light.

- I want something thin and slim (depth) so I can keet the light in my camera bag.
- I want something that is not too big (height, width) so an iPad-size light would not do.
- I'd like something with a high CRI so I don't have to worry about a green tinge or I don't have to keep an array of color-correction filters.

I would use the light mostly for interviews and objects at close range, either as a fill light outdoors or to improve lighting conditions indoors. I'd pay up to $200 CAD

I saw the Vidpro Professional, but it's quite thick for what I'm looking for:

The Aputure Amaran AL-H198, the ikan iLED 144, and the Genaray LED-6500T are all equally thick.

There is a thinner Vidpro Ultra-Slim LED-150 which seems to have little power:

There is also a Luxpad 22 Pro Ultra Thin 11W on AliExpress and Alibaba (not a good endorsement), sold also on Amazon under different (cheapo) brand names: Neewer, NG, PLThink, Nanguang, with negative reviews all over the place. Slim and portable, which is nice, but it doesn't seem to do the job (unless people here have had a different experience).

Any input on possible candidates? Any opinion on the models above, for or against?

Interesting idea the Lume Cube. Certainly a conversation starter with other media people assigned to the same event. I found their website was more oriented towards marketing (visual impact) than information. Their tech specs were in the FAQs. No CRI was reported, though.

I bought one of these and sent it back. It didn't have enough output, especially compared to my Neewer CN160. When you blend tungsten and daylight the output is about halved, as well.

This model just came on the market. Don't expect it to compete in output with the larger lights, but as a eye-light with sensitive cameras, it might check all the boxes.

Re: Slim on-camera LED light

I have tried many lights over the years Comer 1800 (great output but large and bulky for camera), Z96 (good accent light, but low output for camera use and not bi-color), LED512 Bi-color (good output, but large and plastic build) etc.

This is the best on camera LED light that I have owned:
FlapJack 200S: Large edge lit LED panel. Even though I mentioned that the LED512 was large the 200S is very thin and extremely well balanced on camera.

and Flapjack C200L
https://www.fotodioxpro.com/catalogs...lt/?q=flapjack

These lights are edge lit which means the LEDs face outwards and won't cast a LED array pattern. It literally like having a camera mounted softbox. The build quality is solid as they are metal and not plastic, but very light weight and well balanced. The light output is very good and they are high CRI. No green spike at all. They actually lean towards the magenta side.

I also have the Flapjack 300R's which I use for my interview kit.
They are made of metal not plastic, super slim and slide into a bag taking up no room. I can even place it flat in a suitcase with clothes as they take up no room.

I will also say that a pair of lights I use for off camera field work are a pair of Torchled Bolts.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1081927-REG/switronix_tl_bt220r_bolt_220r_dimmable_led.html
These lights are super powerful, bi color adjustable, and remote controllable. I setup a pair of these by a dance floor at an event and power on/off as need, adjust output and color temp via remote control. A single Sony NP950 battery can run full power for 5 hours. While I do love the Bolts for off camera use they are a bit too bulky for on camera use, in my opinion.
