Pictures of mounting mechanisms of Kino Flo's

Hi - I was wondering if anyone has closeup pictures of how kino flos normally mount to standard light stand - I'm trying to decide on a mounting style for some home made kinos.

Anytime I've used Kinoflos they've been mounted on C stands, not light stands. They usually have a rod similar in diameter to those found on large flags for fitting into the "c" clamp.

This rod has a lockable ball inside a socket fitted on a plate that is attached to the back of the Kinoflo.

Interesting - so it works like a ball joint on a car?

It's similar, although the Kinoflo has a slot cut in the socket, so that you can mount the rod vertically down into the "C" stand's clamp (the rod can go in almost parallel to the back panel of the light), allowing the Kinoflo to operate like an ordinary light.

A car type ball joint doesn't need to operate at such an extreme angle.
