FS-CONUS Update: Mint EX3, 55 hours

The EX3 is still available. I've added about 7 hours of use since my last post. Again, I'm not desperate, but want to be fair, so I'm lowering the price. I'll try and break things down more simply:

-I pay shipping and insurance, or if you're in Austin, TX I'll drop it off. I will also provide all of my contact information, should you have any problems or need help getting acquainted with the camera.

Buying options:

1.) Camera Only - $7100

Includes like-new Camera (55 hours of use), battery, charger, remote, original packaging, documentation and other accessories ($8320 original purchase).

Plus Sony tripod mounting plate upgrade ($33) and DM Accessories Reinforced Baseplate v2 ($185).

I will throw in the Mastering the EX3 Doug Jensen DVD ($99.00) for free, if interested. Doug does a great job of helping you get the most out of the camera settings.

2.) Unopened Hardigg Storm Case, olive drab, custom sized for the EX3, still in original packaging. Bought from Adorama Camera in December. Paid 236.00. Willing to ship with camera for $236 in addition to camera price, I'll pay shipping. I did a fair amount of research to find the perfect protective case for the EX3 and this is it.

3.) The other accessories listed are available for a negotiable rate. Again, probably not going for rock-bottom as I'm still working on projects with the XDCAM/CineAlta workflow where the cards and batteries will come in very handy. But willing to sweeten the deal for a serious buyer.

I still suspect that there was a data entry error in customs - if the package has the right address on the label it should get to you. I can't imagine why it would have a deliverable address other than yours - I can barely figure out most international addresses, let alone create a "wrong" one!

Any chance the zip they gave you was for Customs? Did you try a zip code lookup? I'm thinking perhaps somehow that's where the cross-up happened and you should be AOK shortly...

I managed to figure out which zip code is connected to the Dutch track number. With that combination I was able to track the latest information. The package has been delivered to that specific address at the other side of the country. That zipcode represents 32 different housenumbers in the same street. And I don't know a name. I don't know what to do anymore.

My guess is that the track number that the seller gave Chris is a number of another package he managed to get his eyes on. My guess is that he didn't send my jib at all.

I'm afraid I have to give up.

Unless the sender was a renegade postal worker working a scam, I don't know how it would even be possible to "get his eyes on" another package # that was also going to the Netherlands simultaneously... the odds are probably 100x worse than winning the lottery.

It's not showing delivered on the USPS site yet, says the same thing as yesterday. I don't know whether somene else can start a track from the US with the tracking #, but I might be able to try, at least ask anyway! I'm keeping an eye on the tracking info to see what it indicates... hoping it will show delivered, and you'll have the jib.

Somehow I still think there was a mixup of the #'s input - although that seems somewhat odd as well. How close is the zip code numerically to yours? One digit off, and it could be misdirected and take a while for the post office to figure it out - it would probably go out with a postman before the error was caught... maybe call the local post office for the zip you've got with the info you already have, and see if there's a big box they can't figure out what to do with? I had one package that I dealt with domestically that took several days to locate and get in hand, so it CAN happen. At least there's a tracking #, so all hope is not lost.

Misdirected packages happen, as I said, one number transposed or wrong, and... it breaks the system.

USPS now also shows that the package is delivered. And it is but not to my address. The zipcode of the delivery address is 5508 KE (in Veldhoven). The zipcode of my delivery address is 2909 LK (in Capelle aan den IJssel). A mistake? No, I don't believe in that.

The only thing I can do is write a letter to all housenumbers who have that zipcode, explain my problem and ask if they received something they did'nt order. And maybe I do that. Even if only because I can't stand it not being sure if my jib is somewhere in the Netherlands. I would like to be sure so I can buy another one without this one suddenly showing up afterwards.

And as I don't believe anybody in America can still do something for me, maybe it's better we end this thread. For those who tried to solve this for me: many thanks. Sorry it didn't work out. In the unlikely case I have good news, I will make notice of that.

See that as well. Only other suggestion might be to contact your local postmaster and explain the situation and what info you have and see if they will investigate?

I'l ask at my local PO and see if they have any ideas. This is very strange any way you look at it.

I prefer to get a used one for cheap. you see, I'll not be using it as a stabilizer at all. I already have one, I purchased it new long time ago when I started in this business and as far as I recall I never used it at any gig, never get used to it. Now I need another one for this crazy idea I have, I'll be posting back as soon as I get it all done.
