Les, I have a brand new Petrol PSDMB (302) still in the original box from B&H that I bought last year for an outdoor project and never used. Virtually all of my work is indoors and I have a different setup for that. It looks exactly like the PSMB shown on B&H, not sure why it has the "D" in the model type. Would that work for you?

Les Wilson January 27th, 2011 09:06 PM

It seems that the PSMDB 302 is for the Sound Devices 302 mixer which is only 1.8 inches deep. My FP33 is 2.25" deep.

Here's the PSMDB 302:
Coffey Sound :: Cases :: Petrol PSDMB-302 Mixer Bag

Here's the PSMB:

I can see in the "More Images" on B&H that the front unzips to give access to the top of the mixer for battery changes. The PSMDB has two compartments where the mixer goes I think. DOes your look like the PSMB on B&H? Will it hold the FP33 that's 7.75w, 6.5h and 2.25d?

Where in Florida are you?

Bill Spearman January 27th, 2011 11:01 PM

The pics are taken from slightly different perspectives, but other than the ends are black sleeves on mine, and the photo of the PSMD appears to be cordura where the receiver puskets are, it looks the same to me.
I can take some detail photos tomorrow if you like and would be glad to email them to you. Just give me an email you'd like them sent to.

From what I am measuring, it appears your FP would fit well. It has an interior divider with supporting straps attached by velcro which lessen the depth for a MixPre, but are removable and create a depth of 6 1/2" to the top of the bag and would accommodate up to about 8" easily and still allow the see thru cover to fit nicely. I have not removed the straps or adjusted anything (it's still in the original box and packing), but can see that it is very adjustable.

I live in Fort Myers.

Free box!

Cleaning out the studio and I have waaaay too many Firewire/USB cables. There's a bunch of FW800-FW400, USB A-USB mini and Firewire 9pin to 6pin, 9pin to 4pin and 6pin to 4pins. Probably like 20 cables total.

Pay slow boat shipping via paypal and they're yours. I'll probably be posting more items soon.
