Really nice monitor, I just don't use it anymore. I'd love to see someone be able to give it some good use.

Are you still looking for a Z1? Regards, Duncan.

The MRC1K is a must have for Z5 and A1 owners

I can personally speak to the high integrity of Dave Rice. The MRC1K is a great companion to the A1 and breaths life into that workhorse by giving it and and some other Firewire equipped cameras a good solid state capability.

It is especially good for Z5 owners as that camera is built for MRC1K integration directly. The MRC1K mounts well with other cameras like the XH-A1 and has a nice variety of functions for record sync and rollover recording. Because of it, I was able to use it with an A1, XL1s and a TRV-900.

BUT THE BEST FEATURE of all is the cache recording that stores 3 seconds prior to pressing record. That saved me plenty of times.

Lastly, the MRC1K runs like 5 hours on the FP-550 battery that Dave is including.

I can personally speak to the high integrity of Dave Rice. It's sad that we're losing Dave's contributions to the world of video and for many of us, a wonderful old duffer's perspective on the beauty of Alaska.

Forgetting the Portabrace marketing schpeal about the RS-XHAG1 rain slicker, I used this model slicker on an A1 for days walking and riding around various cities. What I loved the most was how the slicker design lets you use the camera's top handle to shoot with. When doing it, everything stays dry and the camera is comfortable to hold keeping the hand inserted into the slicker all the time.

Another thing I like shooting with this slicker is how it has a built in sun shade for the flip out LCD. Of course it protects it when shooting with it flipped out in the rain but when the sun comes out, it's a handy sun shade.

I shoot manually and was able to access all 3 of the A1 lens rings by making a small modification to the slicker. Dave's slicker has that modification.

The PB slicker takes the worry out of shooting when you go out for the day not knowing if you'll run into some rain. It sits nicely on the bottom of the bag, a large pocket in your vest/coat or heck, shoot with it on.

PB stuff wears like iron and holds it's value. This unit looks like it's in new condition and is well worth the asking price.
