Hi, Paul! I priced it based on B&H prices for the Tripod ($1,980), Mid-Level Spreader ($639), and Rubber Feet ($270). A total of $2,889. I took the B&H price for those items and established my asking price of $2500.

Maybe, you were just looking at the price for the Tripod alone?

Paul...not to beat a dead horse, but could you have been looking at the Sachtler ENG 2 CF 100 mm Carbon Fiber Bowl Tripod Part Number 5386? B&H lists it for $1,665.00.

It's a less robust version of the Model 5390. The Model 5386 uses smaller diameter CF tubing and has a Carbon-Fiber 100mm Bowl instead of metal like the #5390.

Same family, but two completely different Tripods.

Sachtler Models are confusing unless you make sure you're looking at the right Model, Google search on the description brings up both Models on a single search. Again, no accusation, just supposing that's what may have happened?
