1) Studio1 Productions 12.6' aluminum boom pole. Note, this does not have the hot shoe adapter, but instead a standard 3/8"-16 threaded male tip that I used in its place (this is the tip end that all professional boom poles and shock mounts use).

2) Shure SM-93 omnidirectional lavalier microphone. This is a hard-wired, XLR, phantom powered lavalier that is in the mid-range of lavalier microphones. It has a very natural sound to it, excellent for the human voice, and comes with a tie bar/clip mount.

3) Shure SM-58 handheld dynamic vocal microphone. Industry-standard for live-stage performances, but also can be used just fine for man-on-the-street/reporter type stuff with the caveat that the handle's on the short side. The top of the grill is slightly dented, but this isn't really noticeable on camera, and it comes with a red foam windscreen (albeit one with a dirt/spot stain).

4) 2 25' XLR microphone cables with top notch neutrik connectors.

Price:$90 for everything, shipping included.

Payment by paypal.

Eugene, I'd take you up on that in a second if my cam had XLR and I wasn't planning on filming overseas (does the boom pole disassemble/fold up?)

Mark Von Lanken August 24th, 2007 08:16 AM

I am estimating the total hours on the camera as 10.

We shot 12 wedding ceremonies, lasting about 30-45 minutes each. That equals 6-9 hours.

We also shot 5-6 First Dance and Parent Dances. The longest those events last is 15 minutes, so the worse case would be 1.5 hours total.

The camera was Not used for the entire wedding day. Only for the events listed above. The camera was Not used to capture footage to the computer.

As I said in the original post, we used our two Z1s for the entire wedding day and the A1 was only used as a third camera for the Ceremony and First Dance/Parent Dances.
