I use it mainly for the zoom function. The zoom button makes a "click" when pushed...so if you are using onboard mic it may pick up the click... Jeff |

Manfrotto Best
I own the Varizoom VZ-Rock and the Manfrotto 521 Proi.
The Manfrotto has a superior smooth zoom with more features and quality build. |
I've owned 6 LANC remotes of 4 different designs. For me, the two aspects of a remote's design that caused the most high frequency irritation are:
1) the ease at which the controller attaches firmly to the handle without slipping during a shoot 2) the quality of the zoom mechanism. Sticky zoom rocker switches *can* ruin a shot. Controllers that twist around the handle after a couple uses and require constant tightening are a pain. In my experience, these are the the things to pay attention to and are worth paying for if necessary. Other things that may be important to you are the ability to remove the controller without taking the mount apart (think little thumb screws and bracket parts to keep track of). Ability to perform a constant speed zoom so all you have to do is smash the rocker/button. Cable management. |

Hi Greg, Les, and Rodger!

Do you use this with the A1? Thanks for tip/feedback! Quote:
Out of the 6, what is most favorite? Any one in particular work well with the A1? Quote:
I imagine that would fit well on something like the Spiderbrace? It is great to hear how much experience you have. It is neat to know that a 115$ LANC met you, and your company's, needs. :) Thanks all! I really appreciate it! Cheers, Micky |
