I think you got it backwards. The TV sends aspect info. If the camera does not receive it, then it letterboxes its output.

Sounds like you are shooting video of a TV screen with the shutter greater than 1/60th or 1/50th, if 50Hz is your country's thang.

You could try moving the KONA to another slot in your computer. Maybe just reseating the card will clear the noise...?

Try moving it away from other cards. It could be picking up interference.
