Re: HDMI Input to PC to Play Video

Great tip on VLC! I didn't know you could use it there, but that solves a lot of problems, really.

The Magewell cards look relatively pricey. I might suck up the extra drivers for a couple...

Re: HDMI Input to PC to Play Video

Thank you, and I should have been more clear. I was pretty sure that I would end up with a device that doubles as a capture card, but I'm looking for a recommendation for a specific card based on a...

Hey all,

I'm looking for a way to input HD video via HDMI into my PC, and then play the video in a window real time. I don't need to record it - I just want to be able to play it on the monitor....

Win 7 vs Win 10 with Adobe CC

Hey all,

I'm running the current Adobe CC suite and currently in Windows 7. I've seen a lot of people here asking about older Adobe versions, but has anyone upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 with the...

Re: Windows Explorer and WAV Files

Yes! Sadly, they have a hundred fields of meta data you can include, Sample Rate wasn't among them... that's the only one that I would have added.

Re: Windows Explorer and WAV Files

And I just figured that out - apparently, if you choose something in "My Documents", you don't get the customize tab, and the folder I was using as example was in there.

Thanks again for the tip!

Re: Windows Explorer and WAV Files

Alan,

Thanks! I had actually found that page in my searching, and it looks like EXACTLY what I want, but when I open the properties for my folders, I do not have a "customize" tab. I have:

Windows Explorer and WAV Files

Hey guys, long time no post.

I search the forums and web for this, but it's a hard one for keywords.

I recently switched back to Windows, skipping a decade of development. When I open a...

A good friend of mine put together this side-by-side comparison that's pretty cool:

Re: Canon USA Announces EOS 5D Mark III

Yes - that's my biggest question, too. When you hit record, does the HDMI drop to 480p like the 5DII? Or does it stay at HD like the 7D?

AF100 ugliness out of the box - what am I doing wrong?

Hey guys, we were setting up a shoot today with some new cameras - two AF100's and an AC160.

As we started lighting the set, we fired up the cameras (which were feeding into a Newtek Tricaster for...

HDCam and Beta Deck?

I'm getting ready to produce 26 episodes of a show for cable on the very cheap, and I need to write them out to HDCam for HD and either DigiBeta or Beta SP for SD. My hope is to be able...

Re: To Mac or not to Mac: The Future for Mac-based editors

Re: To Mac or not to Mac: The Future for Mac-based editors

Robert, I respectfully disagree with almost everything you've said - the only exception being, of course, don't try to switch NLE's in the middle of a project.

I had the transition to Premiere a...
