However, if I shoot in CBR, I can stream the video into FCE just like "normal" DV without any plugins? Is my understanding right on this one?

Does the Apple Plugin from JVC need Apple Quicktime Pro or the Apple MPEG plugin?
I just learned that Apple doesn't sell ANYTHING to US-territories.
