Hello Ron,
Thanks, glad you liked it. Jon Dunn is an American and lives in California and leads field trips for Wings. I have known him since the early 90's, if it's the same person.

Since the...

Hummingbirds Of Southern California

Given the current price of gas, it has limited me getting out in the field to do any kind of filming. I have spent a lot of time sorting or backing up old video files, lots of Honey Do's or being a...

Re: Birds In Slow Motion

Thanks Bob. Really had fun filming them. Thanks to the Miller Air rig, which made tracking very easy smooth. The Whimbrel flock coming in to their evening roost was the largest single flock of that...

Re: Birds In Slow Motion

Hello Ron,
For some reason I didn't get a notification that you had commented on my post, oh well sorry about that. At 180fps it's 33% of normal. The peep flock are mostly all Westerns with a few...

Birds In Slow Motion

Something I not only enjoyed shooting, but also edited. A lot of hours spent in the field, but well worth it. Make sure you play it at 1080, full screen and with your speakers turned up. Enjoy........

The Biggest Week in American Birding

I was fortunate to be able to attend this event in Northwest Ohio this last May on an assignment for the American Bird Conservancy. I had a blast, both being there and filming a part of it at Magee...

Re: 4K Camcorder for Wildlife

I have a friend in Perth, Robert Humphries, and he's done a lot of wildlife shooting with a camcorder, don't know which one. Here is his email, and I'm sure he would love to give his thoughts on...

Re: Birds In Motion

Doug,
Thanks for your response. I don't use a lot of music, and the music that I do use is offered from an artist or a music site for free, and I do follow the protocol they want in citing the song,...

Re: Birds In Motion

Doug,
I totally agree with everything you said. I found it on Vimeo and it was a video that the user allowed the option to download it. The user didn't list the music and it has been weighing on my...

Re: Birds In Motion

I know the GH5 does a lot more than the GH4, but it will be at least a year before I can think about one. I have been shooting in 4K nearly 100% of the time now knowing I can crop it if needed.

Birds In Motion

I always wanted to go a fast paced video put to music. After 4 years I finally collected enough video to complete it. All the footage was shot with the GH3 and GH4 in 1080p and UHD 2160p converted to...

Re: Allen's Hummingbird Bathing In The Rain

Hello Ron,
I also have the Nikon 80-400mm 1st generation and don't use it that much unless I need the reach. Recently I did need the reach on a Least Bittern. I have looked at the Sigma 150-600mm,...

Re: Allen's Hummingbird Bathing In The Rain

Thanks Mark. The Sigma 400mm prime is a great lens for when you are at a stationary setup and don't have to move to re-frame a shot. If you continually have to move your setup, it's a real pain in...
