Re: Bmpcc sold at 50% discount, is it still worth buying?

Hi Larry

The snow looks right on as Rob said, and skin tone looks OK.

I think it's "better" (whatever that means, since everyone has their own idea of good better best. You can play with this...

Re: C100 Frustration

Thanks for the reply.

I've been shooting at 29.97, not 24. A lot of applications seem to understand that it's progressive footage in a 59.94i wrapper, but not Resolve. I can tweak Premier to tell...

C100 Frustration

I picked up a C100 (Ml I) a few weeks back. I really like the camera.. But I'm going nuts trying to get the AVCHD footage into Resolve as Progressive. No matter what I try it seems to treat it as...

Re: Bmpcc sold at 50% discount, is it still worth buying?

Hi Larry

Well (and I'm far from an expert and most of my usage is locked off on a tripod as an overview camera for classical orchestra recording)

1) It was handheld = shaky. Stabilizing in post...

Re: Wanted Battery for JVC GY HD-100U(A)

Hi Lisa

Just a sort of OT question - are you still using tape or something else? I use my 110 with a Ninja these days. Still a great camera for Web stuff.

I use the AB setup and with a 140 WA...

Re: Does my C100 Mark II have a defective sensor?

I'm pretty sure it's a reflection if it only shows up in the darker areas and moves around on the frame depending on how the camera is aimed.

Re: Bmpcc sold at 50% discount, is it still worth buying?

I got Resolve when I got the BMCC. I think the hardest part of using it is that it doesn't act like "normal" PC Software - probably due to it's roots as a stand a dedicated workstation. I haven't...

Hi Noa

Just wondering how you're doing with the BMPCC

Re: Does my C100 Mark II have a defective sensor?

If the line isn't in the same place in every frame I'd be inclined to doubt that it's a sensor issue.

Re: Storm sounds

I do indeed remember the sheet metal. When I took 7th grade shop class we thought it was great fun to play with some old sheet metal to make thunder. I was just afraid nobody would believe me!

Re: Archiving Cards Takes "Forever"

I just happened to archive 73GB from a 128GB SD last night - took around 20 minutes. (USB 3)

Re: Storm sounds

Of course you could use a sheet of plastic to make the thunder like they used to do in the "good old days"

(Google "thundersheet" if you're a "youngster")

Re: Thunderbolt card reader

I doubt you'd see much difference unless you were streaming from several cards at once

The big question I have is how long Thunderbolt will be around now that Apple doesn't use it for the Air any ...

Re: C100 and Canon HD broadcast lenses

I haven't been able to find a good set of specs for the lens, but I did find something saying it was 1/2 inch.

If true it would be most unlikely to work on the C100 as the Super 35 sensor is MUCH...

Re: JVC GY-HD100U....battery

I retired once. 20 years later I'm still working full time. I guess I'll retire when they bury me.

Re: JVC GY-HD100U....battery

I have a Gold Mount on mine and an AB Hytron 140 (IIRC it's NOT Lithium Ion). I think it weighs more than the camera! It will run a 75W lamp on-camera where the Dionic will not. And it runs - well,...

Re: Simple (I hope) question re wireless systems

Yes, size matters!

I preordered a 7" Sound Devices video recorder - I need the big screen. It's absolutely hopeless trying to use the (CRAPPY!!!!!) viewfinder on the C-100. The LCD screen is nice...

Re: Simple (I hope) question re wireless systems

Thanks for the kind words. It really wasn't much of a test and it gave me an impetus to familiarize myself with the unit.

One thing I don't like about it (at least on the small camera top...
