there is a terrible stuttering if you'll shoot EX1 on steadicam slow motion with IS on, other than that i never noticed any difference, but it could be different for other cameras;

No Noa, i shot that video, and I am telling you, to my eye after 15db Sony's footage wasn't usable, and again, to my eye 18db on HF G10 is acceptable, but just acceptable.

and Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 no IS, goes for $500-600, just remember, shooting video @200mm without IS you'll need a heavy tripod, Sigma is a sharp lens, but Canon's IS as just amazing and very helpful

Canon 15mm is a bit sharper, at least mine :), but Samyang 14mm is very good for $350, and has less barrel distortion

absolutely, plus the challenge will be not just for your wrist, but also for the merlin's gimbal, i tried couple times loaded with WA lens and mike EX1 on merlin, with additional weight it's doable,...
