In response to using the spring rod from the camera to the belt pouch.
First keep in mind that my experiences might be very different than yours but I've used a DVTEC ENG rig on full sized camera...

Re: Lav Placement...
If your going to let the wire show, DO NOT run it over the shoulder from the back to front! That screams amateur and looks so bad it makes me crazy!
OOOPS. I did that a year ago on an interview...

Re: Using 2x wireless lavs as full duplex radio?
I've used ClearCom wired with both single and dual muffs for a number of years including on stage or in front of stage at concerts like Grand Funk, the Family Stone and many others. They are quite...

Re: Lav Placement...
Guys,
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to start anything. ;-) I've always or at least for the last 30 years known MoS to stand for "man on the street". I've not done film production so I never heard of the...

Daniel,
Thanks. You learn something new everyday. I had no idea that MOS was used in another context. Again thanks!

Hey Rick, I don't understand what you meant. MOS to me has always been 'Man on the Street' news style so I'm not sure about your comment. Please explain.

Al,
It sounds like you and I went to the same school. Pretty much the same rates with the same idea of throw in some edit to keep the rate...in this business it's a dance and of course knowing the...

Re: Micing up the father of the bride
Lineal edit? I'd just as soon stick a fork in my eye! Yep one camera, one audio source. You what that did? Taught one how to shoot and not depend on having multiple cams and audio even when you did...

Re: Micing up the father of the bride
Roger, Chris...We are dinosaurs! ;-) But we've made our mark and I don't think any of us are looking to change much.
There is a big big market even here in the states and remember I'm in the 3rd...

Re: Am I Stupid, or does Vegas suck for multicam
Jim,
I can't answer for Vegas even though I use it since V.2 but I CAN answer for using a 3rd party multicam plug in. Personally I use Excalibur by Edward Troxel. I've been using it since it came...

Re: Micing up the father of the bride
I didn't start using multiple cameras until somewhere around 2000. Until then I was using a full size cam the last being the JVC X2s and if you recall those, they were expensive and I couldn't...

Re: Micing up the father of the bride
Nope, no reason to. Adrian, if you keep mic'ing people up you're gonna need a audio guy with a 12 channel mixer on his chest. Remember, you're not shooting a feature film. ;-)

I've never really worried about hiding the lav. Doing MOS type interviews the clients don't seem to care that the lav can be seen.

Re: Ok I give up with weights!!
Chris,
actually the Multirig did fold up. For small form factor cams it was a treat, at least as far as I'm concerned. One reason it was costly is the quality was top notch and at the time it came...

+1 on the Epson 300. It's not printing the colors correctly any more, but I've used it for about 5 years and run hundreds if not thousands of DVDs and prints thru it. 13x19 movie posters suck up lots...

Re: Ok I give up with weights!!
Hey Chris,
Yeah with FS cameras the key is to be a bit back heavy so when your hands are on the lens your arms do the natural thing and pull down. The ENG rig allowed me to actually let go of the...
