It could be a result of the 25fps and the 1/25...
It could be a result of the 25fps and the 1/25 shutter speed being equal. The bottom line is it is still interlaced which is evident from the lines in the 1/25 shot. If it was true progressive there...

The 1/25 image still isn't a true progressive...
The 1/25 image still isn't a true progressive image but due to the slower shutter speed the blur is enough that the interlacing appears to blend almost entirely. The 1/25 image sure does look better...

Frank, I think the VX's glass and OIS are actually sourced from...Canon, just like Canon's chips are sourced from Panasonic! At least is was for the VX1000 so I imagine Sony would have kept the same...

Some Sony cameras, at least here in Japan, will play back PAL tapes on a TV, but as for exporting the footage I have never tried it. Since it's digital it should work if the camera will play it back...
