Re: Coastal San Buenaventura [Panasonic GH3]

The same reason you would use an ND Filter on any camera, maintain shutter speed and to open up the iris for depth of field. Then again the lenses you're using aren't very fast. Just curious. ...

Re: Am I cheating

I went the other way. Used Premiere for 10 years and knew it like the back of my hand. Crash city with CS2 and just stutter playback with anything HD whereas Vegas Pro 8 cut through it like nothing...

Re: No Exposure Comp w GH2 with Legacy Lens

Just tested out the Panny 14-140 kit lens and Exposure Compensation definitely works in Shutter-Priority in Creative Movie Mode.

@Adrian: In a dark room in Shutter-Priority mode in Creative Movie...

Re: No Exposure Comp w GH2 with Legacy Lens

Me too! I don't have the kit lens handy so I'm going to have to check it out when I get a chance which was my original question to begin with.

Re: No Exposure Comp w GH2 with Legacy Lens

Then why does Exposure Compensation not work with native four-thirds lenses In Shutter-Priority as Bruce stated? I was thinking the expo-comp in Shutter-Priority would adjust the iso if the iris was...

Re: No Exposure Comp w GH2 with Legacy Lens

Thank you Bruce. I do indeed use full manual but looking to create a preset for something that's a little quicker in constant changing lighting conditions. I appreciate the info but am still...

Re: No Exposure Comp w GH2 with Legacy Lens

Anyone? The manual states this functionality is available in this mode. Anybody able to use exposure compensation while in Shutter-Priority mode with a non-four-thirds lens?

No Exposure Comp w GH2 with Legacy Lens

Stumped on this one. I have a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar on an unhacked GH2. In movie creative mode HBR I get the +3 and -3 exposure compensation when aperature priority is the exposure mode. I can...

Re: Most Stable 64bit version of Vegas Pro?

Thanks Marco. I assume that if you have a "Sony Approved" video card than you could use GPU Support.

Thanks Gerald! What other versions of Vegas have you used before V12? What happens with GPU on? Thank you.

Re: Letting Vegas render for DVD from hi-def footage?

I can attest to this workflow in terms of the downrez from HD to SD quality with VirtualDub vs using Vegas. Its remarkable how much better VirtualDub looks compared to Vegas downsizing. Do a quick...

Re: Most Stable 64bit version of Vegas Pro?

Thanks for the reply Duane. I may upgrade sooner than later as creating proxy files is starting to take up too much of my time and disk space ;) Thanks for sharing your work. Very impressive. Out...

Re: Most Stable 64bit version of Vegas Pro?

Thanks guys for the replies. Can anybody comment on how often their 64 bit Vegas crashes? In the 2-3 years I've been using Vegas 8.0c, it's crashed on me maybe 10-15 times and this is with some...

Most Stable 64bit version of Vegas Pro?

Been on 8.0c for a while and it is rock solid stable. Windows XP though. Can anybody comment on which 64bit version is the most stable? Any comparisons to 8.0c's stability would be helpful as well....

Re: GH3: Buzz buzz b-buzz

Stabilization is a major issue with my 25mm Takumar Super Muliti Coated Vintage lens (50mm after crop). Amazing footage, but holding her steady handheld leads to hand cramps very quickly. Will need...

Re: GH3: Buzz buzz b-buzz

I think my biggest gripe is with the miniscule hand grip. It appears that the GH3 grip solves this issue for me.

Re: GH3: Buzz buzz b-buzz

Ergonomics alone may be worth it to me. Handheld with the GH2 is just as bad if not worse than handheld with the Canon XL2.

Re: Just released GH2 Battery Grip. Just got my email.

Can anybody comment on if the grip improves the comfort level of holding the GH2? It's just too small to hold for an extended period of time and my right hand gets crampy quick. It takes me back to...

Re: Any software that can scan HDV for drop outs?

The issue isn't the audio getting out of sync with the video. The issue is dropped frames and how your capture program deals with it. In my case, I'll sync up my two cams in Sony Vegas Pro and start...
