Re: UWOL#63 "POSTCARD FROM THE MOUNTAINS THE VALLEYS AND FJORDS OF NORWAY" by Geir In

Hi Geir Inge,

Nice to see some of the places I have visited myself years ago.
Was wondering what happened to your voice, and then I read your description, haha.

A nice mix of mountains and...

Re: UWOL 63 - "A Virtual Postcard from the Amazon Rainforest" by Philip Murray

Hi Phil,
You have an exotic backyard!
I like the variety of wide and close up shots. And you even had some wildlife too.
Some of those flowers were really colorful.
Very cool beginning with that...

Re: UWOL 63 - Hiking in Hardanger, Norway by Trond Saetre

Thank you, Phil!
I totally agree with the shaky footage, and I expected this to be commented.
To achieve steady shots was the real challenge of filming with my phone. I intentionally left it raw,...

Re: UWOL #63 "My Florida Retirement" by Roger Van Duyn

First of all, a big warm welcome to UWOL!

Alligators are exotic to me, so it was really cool that you were able to film them. I wish your film was longer.

It would have been nice with some wide...

Re: Greetings from the Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Hi Bob,
This was a really nice film! You managed to show us the garden in a way that made me want to visit.

In the first part of the film, I wish you had used a few more close up shots of the...

UWOL 63 - Hiking in Hardanger, Norway by Trond Saetre

Early in the plannijg of my entry, I desided that I wanted to use my phone for almost all the filming. My camera gear and drone was only used for about 7-10% of the shots. Even the VO was re orded...

Re: UWOL 63 - Tales of wonder & woe

This must be the quickest editing of any of my entries so far. But finally it's a wrap!

About 90% is filmed with my phone, something I haven't done for a serious video before. Main goal was to...

Re: UWOL 63 - Tales of wonder & woe

Finally got a chance to film a little today, as the sun came by for a quick visit.
This time most of my entry is filmed with my phone, a tiny little part with drone and the real camera.
No time...

Re: UWOL 63 - Tales of wonder & woe

Seems like we all struggle one way or another this round.
My city has had the most wet July in 60 years, and no clue where the summer temperatures are hiding.
So far 19 out of 27 days in July has...

Re: UWOL 63 - Tales of wonder & woe

If anyone is having challenges coming up with an idea... don't over think. Simple can be good.
You could film your backyard, your town, your favorite beach, forest, a hiking trip, a road trip......

Re: UWOL 63 - Tales of wonder & woe

Went out today to film parts of my entry. Attempting handheld filming in 16-19 m/s winds on a mountain, is very challenging. Not sure if any footage can be used.
Notice to self: Do not forget the...

Re: UWOL 63 - Tales of wonder & woe

I find it very useful to have the three built-in ND filters in my Canon XF300 too. Using them all the time outdoors.

Re: UWOL 63 - Tales of wonder & woe

Seems like you have an exciting (and for me, exotic) idea for your film, Roger.

I haven't filmed anything yet, but I have a rough idea, which for now includes both the sea and mountains.
Got...

Re: UWOL 63 - Tales of wonder & woe

The "signing up and then stuff happens" happens for everyone if us, Mark. You are not alone about that.

As for drones, I have only tried one toy drone a few years ago. Found it impossible to...

Re: UWOL 63 - Sign up here

This was the original purpose of the wonder and woe thread, but after the first years, people tended to post less and less about their own progress, and the interaction between the players faded. Not...
