According to B&H, Portabrace has the RS-DVX100 rain slicker for the DVX. I haven't seen it yet, but I assume it fits better than the PD-150 version from portabrace.

While I don't have a Widescreen TV, I can tell you that it is marked as widescreen when imported into Premiere. Thus, I think it would be shown without bars on a widescreen TV... just like any Canon...
