Stacking is the only option for 3D. The metadata is mainly for decoder control.

If YUV was at 3K, YUV has twice the number of chroma samples, and is therefore half the speed of RAW. If YUV was at 1920.

YUV HD 1920*1080*2 = 4147200 samples

The sample code supports any pixel format the codec supports. While the demo code uses DPX files, everything you need is there.

RAW is a pixel format (Bayer) and Filmscan is a compression level, not a comparison, different things.10-bit 4:2:2 is not RAW, but would still be nice. An i7 should be able to encode 10-bit YUV...

You don't need to convert to 4:4:4. The systray CineForm controller has the menu Decoder Settings->Filter 4:2:2 to 4:4:4, this does the equivalent upon decode, saving you more disk space.

It is a false positive in Avast, it happens with some of the updates, I filed a false report with Avast. Either disable Avast or wait for them to fix it.

The problem is Resolve doesn't read CineForm metadata (when it could), so the patch treats Resolve like other non-RAW aware applications.

We haven't been responding as the new stuff is out in a week or so. Some issues are fixed, some new features, so we can't talk about what has changed until the 2.0 version is out.

Nuke does need to switch using the CineForm SDK, as QuickTime is so 8-bit centric, it is not a good solution to interface to compression technologies.

GoPro CineForm Studio includes the CineForm codec support in Vegas. You no longer need NeoScene and it has since been discontinued in favor of the free Studio software.

I expect the AME quality is fine, not sure if it upconverts 4:2:0 nicely. 4:2:2 is plenty for the encoder.

Note: 1920x1080 encoding is free with GoPro CineForm Studio. Keep NeoScene or NeoHDV installed, then install CineForm Studio on top for expanded, free features.

Note: this is not a gamma issue, rather a black/white level different better video system and computer RGB. Gamma issues are Mac/QuickTime related, so you don't have that.
