besides the achromat, you can build one with the same quality, not the same...

Bob, you're right. The 72mm is only 3.5+. But, look at it this way. Wayne Kinney's achromat is 10+ diopter and the size of a 52mm, threaded 72mm and his works fine with HD. I think it's more hype...

What you think? I've got a nice GG material, not a frosted CD, that'll be great for this project. I tried it with the Daniel's Vibrating holder, but the vibration wasn't able to rid all of the grain....
