Re: Blackmagic Pocket Cine Camera - my first footage

The BMPCC produces ProRes encoded video, Vegas will handle it just fine.

If your computer is up to spec.

Re: First TV commercial - advice needed UK

That video is now private, can't see it.

Always try to get delivery specs before you shoot. Shoot in the highest resolution possible, you can always downres. Sound is *very* important. Tell your...

Re: is it generally OK to use the exterior of a commercial store with the store name?

*zombie thread*

Steve is both right, and very very wrong.

You can, legally, shoot video of anything you can see from a public place, without repercussion.

Until you publish that video.

If...

Re: Advice on outdoor shooting

Picking the locations will be the most important part of your project. You'll want to scout the locations at the same time of day you plan to shoot, so you'll know what the light will be doing, and...

Re: Best earset microphone for high wind situations?

Yes, I am. This thing is just too sensitive to wind!

With the beige foam windscreen and a (black, because that's what I've got) furry windjammer it's okay, but it looks hideous. Which means it...

Re: Best earset microphone for high wind situations?

Interesting, thanks! Still stuck on the color issue, though.

I guess I could just paint the white one beige!

Re: Zoom H5 recorder

I was very interested when they announced the H5, but now with the price released I'm out. For $269 they should have included the XLR expansion capsule, at least.

The price point for the H5...

Re: Best earset microphone for high wind situations?

I'd love it if it were that simple! ...And I have tried it, but there's a problem. The issue I'm having here is that the only companies I can find that make the proper size fuzzy for the E6 (it's a...

Best earset microphone for high wind situations?

I've got a project in which we shoot outdoors, with a lot of movement, and an over the ear (earset) microphone would be my first choice. In the past we did this with a lav, but it wasn't as good as I...

Re: Two boom ops

What kind of mixer/recorder setup are you using?

Re: I have had it with adobe

Before I sold my Z1 I had zero problems mixing HDV and DSLR video in Sony Vegas. It works with multiple formats very well.

Re: I have had it with adobe

I wouldn't hold my breath on the Mac beta, they've been promising that thing for what, 2 years now?

The PC version is a solid choice, though.

Re: Recommendation for good low-light, "enthusiast" camcorder

I've had good luck with my Canon EOS M, useable video all the way to the top of the ISO range, and meets your budget.

And the two Canon EOS M lenses are fantastic!

Re: I have had it with adobe

I use Sony Vegas Pro on my pc editing station (and CS6 Premiere Pro on mac at work), and it's been quite a solid platform for me.

Re: Help! Motion 5 export error -1

Confirmed it's a memory problem. Restarting gives one good render of a 30 second sequence, then it's back to failing.

Apple lists the minimum RAM for Motion 5 as 4GB. This machine has 6GB and...

Norm,

You need to contact the station/network that will be broadcasting your content. They will provide you with the exact specs they require for delivery.
