Re: Gamma settings with Sony Vegas.. I'm a bit confused now.

Nothing has changed. The only way I an think that you many have a seemless workflow, if you exported as 4:4:4 rather than 4:2:2, support StudioRGB in 4:4:4 is more common. Otherwise, good news I...

Re: Cineform and DNG from Blackmagic Camera

It is so much less compute intensive:
No demosaic required (demosaic is compute intensive if quality is important)
No 2400x1350 to 1920x1080 scaler (also computer intensive)

Re: Artifacting with Cineform 4:2:2

I will look into why 4:2:2 to 4:4:4 filter is disbled in the 1.3 beta, should be an easy fix. As for 4:2:2 being equivalent because of bayer, that is not completely true, it is somewhere is between...

Re: Artifacting with Cineform 4:2:2

That is a display artifact not an encoding one. How are you outputing the JPG frames? You might try setting the "Filter 422 to 444" option within the "C" systray icon under "Decoder Settings"

Re: Cineform Studio vs. FirstLight/HDLink?

Yes, the dropbox trick works great with Studio, even better as the presets are now also sharable through dropbox. I have all my system on the same LUTs folder in dropbox. Color corrections are the...

No RTFM needed, it is very easy.

1) Create the look you want.
2) Give it a name in the "PRESETS" text field, and click "ADD".
3) Select a new clip that you want this preset on, simply clip on...

Re: Cineform quicktime After Effects Render = tripple image, shifted color channels.

Yes, if you want supers that a below 0 or above 1, they will be chopped off by the application before the codec sees it -- particularly a RGB only application like AE. Use the floating point mode so...

Re: Cineform quicktime After Effects Render = tripple image, shifted color channels.

This is normal. Floating point will not protect your supers (white or black extremes) when going to most codecs. A Codec must have ranges between zero (darkest black) and one (brightest white.) ...

HDLink will not change, just minimum to no bug fixes. It will be removed from the desktop in a build soon, but can still use it from the Start menu.

Re: Heads-up on a workflow kink.

Use AVIFrame.exe ( free tool) to check and or fix the frame rate of the source AVI. Yes it should be 24000/1001 but some app use other approximate ratios like 23976/1000 or crazier. One of these...

Re: Heads-up on a workflow kink.

The footage is still 23.976, many tools report 23.98 and they are wrong, there are complex reason for this. This is nothing to do with the codec, just the frame rate in the header of the MOV. Some...
