Back on topic, this Tiffen kit from B&H is good for the money. I wouldn't put anything cheaper in front of my lenses.

You have two good lenses, but how about picking up a Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 lens (about $600). This is my favorite lens for the 7D. This would leave you with about $400 to play with...

Camera came back repaired under warranty in less than 5 days. It helps that the Canon Service Center is only about 3 hours away.
Camera works fine now.

Dead Pixel on Canon 5DMII
I filmed a classical concert this afternoon and in looking through the footage I noticed a red/pink spot on the upper part of the screen. It must be a dead pixel. The camera is about 9 months old...

Jon has given you some great advice. Are you taking a feed direct from the audio board or just using the built in mics? I would take a feed from the board if at all possible.
