Re: Creative Picture Profiles

I've been working on mapping the curves first and then will probably work on creative settings. However, my primary goal right now is achieving the widest latitude possible within the limitations of...

Re: Air Travel - Carry On Luggage FS 700

I use the CC-192 for travel but it isn't ideal for a bunch of lenses. You have to remove the handle too.

Re: Hyperfocal distance with Speed Booster

You should still use the f stop as read from the lens, and its actual focal length with CoC for Super-35 (.025mm). The size of the aperture is not physically changing, only the transmittance is...

Re: Samsung Single-lens 3D DSLR

When I watched it on YouTube the first time on my passive 3DTV I didn't notice any temporal issues, but there are moments that are apparent when paused. The concept still has potential if they can...

Re: Samsung Single-lens 3D DSLR

I think that's just a very short shutter, but maybe that is required if the shutter method is actually used as suggested. The temporal sync seems to be perfect.

Re: Buy APS-C sensor glass, or Metabones Speedbooster?

If you already have full-frame glass then I would definitely get the Speedbooster. It will put you back in your comfort zone for field-of-view and you will gain a stop of transmittance. If your...

Re: What would you like to see included on the future firmware update?

I thought of another firmware update to add to my wish list: The ability to continue scrolling down from a bottom clip in the Visual Index by simply pressing down, instead of having to go over to...

Re: Some old JVC HD100/200 series accessories including 15mm rod adapter for quick re

No. I kept it around for the HM700, or any other cameras. Mine is pretty beat up anyway.

Re: What would you like to see included on the future firmware update?

It is probably operator error on my part then, but I would love to know the secret to making the feature actually work properly. The only ways I could figure it would work is by using the LANC cable...

Re: Lens recommendations?

The Rokinon/Bower/Samyung "Cine" lenses with declicked iris at T1.5 are good for the price. If you get Nikon or Canon mount you can use with a cheap adapter for T1.5 or get Metabones Speedbooster...

Re: What would you like to see included on the future firmware update?

- 22fps and 20fps for S & Q mode. (I slightly undercrank a lot for action scenes.)

- Shutter Angle display to stay consistent when shooting 120+ fps, not a 'compensated' readout based on the...

Re: The difference between JVC GY-HMZ1 and GS-TD1

Re: The 180 degree rule with S&Q and super slow-mo question

Unfortunately degrees are not dying off with film, especially for those of us who use Alexa Studio or F65.
I was recently involved in HFR tests for Christie that used both the F65 and Alexa Studio...

Re: The 180 degree rule with S&Q and super slow-mo question

IMHO the engineers messed up the shutter angle function, which entirely defeats the purpose of mimicking a film camera's shutter.

If you are set to 180° at 24p (1/48th of a second), and switch to...

Re: Samsung Single-lens 3D DSLR

I found a pic of the lens. It looks like it does have a drop-in microlens, but it is only two segments.
