Arlen, an agonisingly long time! Can be several minutes depending on 50i or 60i set-up and HFR frame rate choosen.

Yes, copy them as all settings default to "ex-Factory" type settings (i.e. you have to input time and date and then re-customise all the cams settings how you want them to be again).

Not sure if this is related but I think i discovered a while back that having Face Detection on with that Sony G 18-105 kit lens means you can't access the Direct Menu via the button on the side hand...
