Re: Buy older used professional camera, or save money for newer prosumer one?

I would begin taking paying jobs, save up and go for a more up to date prosumer level camera.

Re: T2i autofocus

They are "staying in focus" by shooting with a deep depth of field. That way they just follow the action without having to actually pull focus constantly.

Re: Add only the Video in timeline?

You can also just select the audio in the timeline and hit "U" which will ungroup the audio from the video, and delete the audio. That way you won't end up forgetting to turn off any global settings...

Re: Avid Studio?

I'm quite sure the feature set is greatly reduced in the Studio program, but I'd still like to hear from anyone who's used it... I'm most just curious about the interface.

Unfortunately I don't...

Avid Studio?

This might be a silly question, but does anyone know how similar the interface/workflow of Avid Studio is to Media Composer?

I'm hoping it would suffice as a cheap way to get used to cutting in...

Re: Capturing HDV tapes on PC for Mac

I do this occasionally (but with Vegas Pro instead of PP), and the .m2t files have worked just fine. Your Mac user can transcode if they want.

Re: File Transfer

Sure, just use Finder. Select all the files on the card, and drag & drop them into a folder on the external drive.

I've never used any of the iphoto/utility programs, I just copy the files...

Re: need to get program off dvr

A DVD burner would do the trick easily... But as for your camera, does it have a composite (or any kind of) input?
