Re: What Lens?

The 17-55 lens is an EF-S lens which means that it can only work with the APS-C or crop cameras and not a Full Frame camera like the Canon 5D Mark II. The APS-C cameras (7D, 60D, T2i, T3i) use a...

Re: remote timer problem on 7D

I tried it in all modes. I was going to use AV because that is what Philip Bloom said to use when shooting changing light levels.

I even put the camera in bulb and just tried to use the thing as...

Re: Case for Coollights 600 LED

Dan,

Thanks for the link! Do you know which model number Storm case you have? I am looking at the iM2875 which costs more than the Pelican 1610, but seems to have a little more room inside.

Re: Case for Coollights 600 LED

Dan,

What stands do you use that can fit in the Storm/Pelican case?

Also, can you fit the CL softboxes in there?

Thanks,

Re: Future EOS body, 7D equivalent

The 7D is over a year old, but the much older 5D hasn't been replaced yet so I would think that the 5D would be updated before the 7D.

Canon tends to be on a two year cycle with new models, but...

Re: Fader ND 24-105 Test

I have the FND and use it with my 5DMII/ 24-105 combo as well. I find that it works well, though I don't like the polarizing I get on the corners when I use the full ND of the filter. Also the fact...

I notice that no one has talked about sticking with the native ISO's when shooting with the 7D and 5D. These would be 160, 320, 640, 1250 and 2500. The other ISO's introduce noise even when...

I went with the Sigma 28 mm f 1.8 lens, which is also a macro lens. It works great. I think that it is more expensive than the Canon though.

You can buy them cheaper directly from EPhoto Inc, then from Amazon.

I don't know anything about the lights though. I think that I like the size of the Coollights LED 600 better.

Make sure to stick with your native ISO's, 160, 320, 640, 1250, 2500. These are much cleaner with less noise. I shot a Kendo class in Japan last week at 2500 ISO under horrible mercury vapor lights...
