Is there a limit to the hard drive size or the number of partitions? I think I recall seeing an error message in the manual saying "too many partitions". This possibly eludes to only so many "dumps"...

Thanks Derek.....I got the file from Kaku's site already. I am specifically referring to the P2 image....not the .mov files. I'll try again in a bit.

I'll take a stab and guess that "atm" means at the moment.

FCP is the best solution at the moment and may continue to be. But the reality is it just may not be an option for a lot of people....

I don't think that is accurate either Brian.......I thought the very first thing that happens to a portable drive that is to be used as an "offload" device is that the HVX must first format it. I...

I don't know if you can count this as a "me too" but I will be tinkering with HVX and FCP on MAC-MINI. It really doesn't have the horse power but it lets me dabble until a PC solutioin comes out. I...

Kaku,
I guess the more important question is about how many "offloads" of P2 did you do on the IPOD. Since it is a 60GB Ipod the max it could hold would be 15 or so. If it can have 15 offloads...

My first concern with the Ipod solution is battery life. Sure a typical ipod can last for 10-12 hours of music. That sounds great. But my logic tells me that when playing music the ipod will...

Kaku,

Since you have FCP and the HVX200 can you test and see if the firewire out of FCP will stream to the HVX and then output to HD via the component cables?
It should be a short simple test...

Joe,
that is a question we are all waiting to get answered. Perhaps someone who actually has the HVX200 and FCP can enlighten us. Apparently the workflow is legitimate as FCP does this with the...

If you are directing that to me I have 2 different answers.

1)I am still going to be editing most of my immediate projects in SD/DV so I will still be on my XP workstation for that. I am...

Kaku,
I'm gonna guess you have an older IPOD that still has a firewire connector and not one of the new ones that is USB2 Only but with a converter.

Is that accurate?

Thanks,
Marty

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess the 6 ft cable would allow you to strap the Cineporter to your waist instead of putting the extra weight on the glidecam itself.

In some cases maybe the unit...
