Alternative Route

If Premiere cannot reliably convert CFHD to m2v DVD, I was considering another possible route:
Capture m2t into Premiere, convert and edit in CFHD, recompress the timeline back to m2t-as if you were...

Does the field order need the be reversed in the process of going from HDV (m2t) to m2v DVD (I'm thinking HDV is upper first--is DVD mpeg lower first, like NTSC DV)?? Or is it just something...

Steven
What about the following workflow for SD DVD:

HDV/DV Conversion

My feeble understanding of the issue/challenge of HDV to DV conversion so far is :
HDV is a Hi Rez image with 4:2:0 color sampling. To get a better SD image than native DV the goal is to retain as...

Z1 vs PD 170 to DVD:Better/Worse/Nada?

Steven
Doing the pan n scan while still in the large format sounds like a great technique to get more miles out of your footage. Definately an advantage of the HDV workflow.
The entire subject of ...

Steven Gotz: Please Elaborate

Steven
I'm a little confused as to what you are recommending.
Clearly, one should acquire in HDV, then--
1) downconvert in camera, capturing SD, and edit in SD, or
2) capture the m2t to system,...

Ron: How does that work?

I'm wondering how you render the HDV out from a proxy timeline. I read another post by a guy in Europe, talking about editing with a DV proxy and rendering the m2t- I think on Premiere Pro 1.51. As...

Sony Z1/Cineform color sampling

Sony HDV is 4:2:0 color. When downloading m2t and converting to Cineform intermediate codec for editing, does Cineform maintain the 4:2:0, or does it resample to DV 4:1:1 color?
