I've been tossing around the idea of an HC1 myself. You can import one from Japan for right at $1000 but I've yet to find out if they have the option of English menus (not that its a major concern).

If I were in the market for a used GS400 I'd probably spend anywhere from $600 to $800 depending on age/condition.

I was referring to the circled area. The DV3000 does not handle high contrasts very well but there again the GS400 with its 3CCD arrangement and much improved DSPs would most likely not have this...

Both are great cams but I agree about the horsepower needed for editing HDV. If I recall I think 2.4GHz is the minimum requirement and we all know how unrealistic minimum can be in the PC realm.

Low light might be an issue for weddings with either of these...
