Re: Gave my # to someone NOT referred me..

I've been doing a little bit of sit down type interviews and that's about it and...

Re: Lights on stands at the reception

I used to use 1 or 2 Neewer CN160s with the diffusion screen and a piece of Tough Spun to soften the light up. I really didn't like the so called "3200K" filter. I installed remotes on the lights...

Re: How to get song license?

The Harry Fox agency in NY used to handle that as a clearing house but I think they closed down or at least stopped that practice some years ago but it might be a place to start.
Believe it or not...

Re: Anyone else had a similar experience?

This is why many years ago I started the practice of being paid 30 days prior to the date of the event. Not to mention around here it's a very common practice, actually it's the norm. That way I...

Re: Gave my # to someone NOT referred me..

As you know people hear what they want to hear and the mom probably "heard" 'sure I can do it....cheap' and the other guy probably heard 'hey I'd LOVE to do the wedding for someone I've never talked...

Re: Gave my # to someone NOT referred me..

Re: Gave my # to someone NOT referred me..

Thoughts? Nope, you have no skin in this game, don't sweat it. the other guy stepped on it not you. If she gets upset at you that's her problem. You don't know her, never agreed to the job so she...

Re: Finally doing 'Ceremony Only', what to film?

When I did a ceremony only I would arrive 1 hour prior to the ceremony start time. This was a usual thing for me regardless of whether it was a "full" wedding or ceremony only UNLESS I was also doing...

Re: 700 noisy audio?

I forgot to add to my earlier post that I don't know if that's the way they all sound or if the preamps on mine are just noisey, but again the little noise that is there is quite easy to clean out.

It would be great if there were a real test of the various mics available (at least the typically bought and used mics) be it shotgun, hyper, or lav. Sort of like the tests that Ty Ford had...

I've been using the AKG Blueline CE300/CK93 Hyper for many years now as my general use goto mic. It lives on my primary camera and for indoor run N' gun it's great. For outdoor work it's more than...

Re: Saved by the Rod!

Nothing crazy about using a spring rod with a shoulder cam. I used the DV ENG Rig on my Sony DSR models and my JVC DV5000/51000 cameras. I would use it on the HM700 but JVC changed the foot plate and...
