Re: Cameras that record 10bit
Quite a few cameras record 10-bit nowadays. It used to be kinda rare.
Any Panasonic that uses AVC/Intra or Ultra:
HPX 250, 300, 370, 600, 2000, 3100
PX 270, 800, 5000.
Any Sony with XAVC:...

Rumors of a 4K Sony RX20
There's rumors going around about a 4K RX20 to be released in October, '14.
I'm not surprised if this is true. Panasonic already has the 4K FZ1000. Why wouldn't Sony make the RX10 as a 4K camera?

Re: Price drop on the FS700 - $5999
I thought this might happen, with the release of the FS7. Oh sure, Sony says they won't compete, but they're both very close in price (or, they were). As I stated before, I expect to see more than a...

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
The Sony 18-105 and 18-200 power zooms will work with this camera, up to HD 60P. Not for 4K, though.
If you want to save some money for now, you can use these cheaper lenses. Maybe save 4K for...

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
Interesting - it can use the Sony E 18-105 power zoom lens up to HD 60P. It will compensate for the lens distortion.. That's a cheap lens alternative if your budget's tight.
I wonder if it can...

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
Wow, thanks for the link, Brian. The size of the A-Minima, but lighter? And in S35 to boot? This is an amazing camera. The ergos are near perfect. It really can dethrone the C300 as the go-to...

HPX610 replaces HPX600
Panasonic is replacing the HPX600 with the HPX610. I'm not sure what the differences are, but Panny will stop production of the 600 at the end of September.
You can also trade in your 600 for the...

Re: BBC test of 890
It depends on the "tier." For journalism, "tier 2," which is under 50mbps, is accepted.
