Was it not included on a CD-ROM with the camera? It software is called "3D to LR Converter" and yes it will split the MVC MP4 files into separate left and right MP4 files, which can then be used...

This is extremely easy to do within FCP using the Scrolling Text generator.
Just put a "*" between the credit and the name to create the gutter gap. You can adjust the gap width with the controls...
