Re: Anyone with VG10 and NX70/CX700/CX760 etc.

That was also my experience comparing exactly the same cams- the VG 20 and the CX 550.
However, when I outfitted the VG20 with a 30mm f 1.8, the low light performance was outstanding.
The bottom...

Re: Hacking your pc to accept more RAM?

Premiere Pro is RAM hungry
In my own experience, 8 GB was good, 16 GB was better, 24 GB is actually better yet.
The need for RAM will obviously vary with the type of project, effects, layers,...

Re: Cineform Sony NEX support?

I'm using GoPro Studio Premium.
All of the CF presets (2D and 3D) show up in both my CS6 and CS5.x versions of PPro
I'm guessing that maybe GoPro Studio didn't install properly into your CS6.
Try...

Re: Anyone with VG10 and NX70/CX700/CX760 etc.

You need to be a little careful making that comparison.
The "kit" lens on the VG is a slow f 3.4
The lens on the CX cams are a fast f1.8
So, right out of the box, the CX cams will blow the VG away...

Re: stabiliser for CS5 premier pro 5

Roy
I use the plug-in version of Mercalli V2 for Premiere Pro.
It installs into (plugs into) both PPro CS5.x and CS6 (which I am currently using)
You access it from within PPro Effects Panel, just...

Re: What if my clip contains 2 or more scenes?

You only need to import the clip once.
Then you can set various in & out points and use the clip repeatedly in your project as needed.

Re: Warp stabilizer for wind shake

Could be that they are not up to speed yet for CS6
When you drag Mercalli onto a clip in the timeline, "Mercalli" should show up in the effect control panel, and should twirl down and show menu...

Re: Warp stabilizer for wind shake

Mercalli is expensive, and there are indeed a few tricks for using it, as mentioned above by Alan.
And certainly, I would think that the priority would be to get the CS6 suite.
BUT, for me Mercalli...

Re: CS5.5 to CS6 activation issue - CS5.5 serial rejected

IMO, the bottom line is- you bought CS5.5, you bought CS6, and Adobe has records of both sales.
One way or the other, they will get your CS6 activated- just keep calling them :)

Re: Warp stabilizer for wind shake

Mercalli v.2.0 is brilliant, easy to use right on the PPro timeline, and very fast.
There is very little image softening- it's almost like free lunch :)

Re: Premiere Pro CS6 - Toggle Full Screen

Usually you would address that issue from within the graphics card software.
For example, with nVidea cards, the nVidea Control Panel contains all of those settings.
Then, within PPro, in the...

Re: Adobe Announces Production Premium CS6

Usually, to install the Adobe upgrade version (CS6), it is not necessary that the older version actually be installed.
You'll just need to enter the prior version SN/Activation Key when asked.

Re: Adobe Announces Production Premium CS6

Hmmm....
Just looking at the Adobe website- upgrade of Production Premium CS5.5 to Production Premium CS6 is only $375.
Looks like a bargain to me.
I think I paid $600 to go from CS4 to CS5...

Re: Is Cineform worth the money

I agree with Ann and Peter, Cineform codec is terrific and still useful.
In the early days of HDV it was Cineform that allowed me to even get the job done at all.
Now, with AVCHD, CS5.5, and fast,...

Re: Mixing AVCHD from NEX-FS100 and NEX-VG10

The VG10 does shoot 30p, but it is 30 PsF which means it is in a 60i wrapper.
The trick is to get PPro to recombine the 60i fields back into 30p progressive frames.
Then the footage will go onto a...

Re: Can anyone explain PsF?

RE "good" and "bad" PsF
I believe that "good" PsF is tagged in some manner that allows most NLEs to identify the file as 30 PsF rather than 60i. The NLE will then automatically reassemble the fields...

Re: Do you sharpen when going from HD to SD?

The basic problem for me is that being used to working with, and looking at, high definition imgages as the routine, SD images, even at their best, just don't look up to speed by comparison.
The...

Re: Premiere Pro CS5.5 workflow

I usually use the PPro presets for YouTube, Vimeo, etc. as my starting point.
I have tweaked and saved these presets to be a bit customized, but as I said it is a good starting point.

Re: Adobe Premiere and After Effects Workflow

I think the key to much of your problem lies exactly within the issues of frame size and pixel aspect ratio. You need to be absolutely sure about every parameter of your footage.
I believe the...

Re: Premiere Pro CS5.5 workflow
