Re: Nikon Z6

So I've just come off a very busy 5 weeks with the Z6 for video usage that included 3 weddings, and 2 promo videos.

It performed very well with the 24-70 2.8S being the main lens used 99% of the...

Re: Nikon Z6

Thanks! The 24-70 2.8 is stunning in clarity. I've never seen anything like it out of my F mount lenses.

Today I'll be shooting a 5 hour event (our local Diner en Blanc) with the Z6 in 4K, so that...

Re: Wedding Guys, What's Happening?

I've also discovered that I really am starting to hate the 6-8 hours it takes just to pick out music (aka find it) for these short wedding films. It really sucks. lol

Re: Wedding Guys, What's Happening?

In 2017/2018 (after nearly 20 years) I really began moving away from doing wedding videos to doing wedding photos.

Photos is just easier and way more forgiving and a quite frankly a lot less...

Re: wedding photography megapixel and wide shots?

Yes the relationship that builds over the course of the months leading up to the wedding is pretty incredible.

I get to basically plan their day from a creative standpoint, making sure we have...

Re: wedding photography megapixel and wide shots?

I started making the move into wedding photos about 2 years ago and it has been a very nice source of additional income.

Having extra MP is definitely nice for cropping, but like you say for DOF...

Re: Vimeo shut down my account

On the Wedding Film Academy Facebook group, there were some other recent accounts of big time, long running wedding film makers having their vimeo accounts deleted for the same. Thousands of videos...

Re: Nikon Mirrorless Z6 and Z7 announced. 10BIT HDMI OUT!

I'm looking forward to getting a Z6 if finances allow that in a couple months. It ticks all the right boxes for me.

The Video AF I've seen is just as good as Canon's DPAF and this will be mostly...

Re: X70 Repair Questions

my x70 fell off a tripod onto a concrete floor right before a wedding started a couple months ago or so.

Sent it off to NY and it took about 5 weeks and $250 to replace the LCD that cracked and...

Re: Vimeo alternatives

I've never noticed any playback issues on Vimeo - but right now I'm more concerned about the complete account take downs that have been going on for music violations etc with no warning.

Anyone else looking forward to seeing what Nikon puts out on Aug 23 2018?

Re: Who here offers Photo, Video, or DJ packages

In 2017 I moved into offering wedding photography to compliment my wedding videography.

I do not do combos though, they are distinct packages.

My core team consists of folks I've been shooting...

Re: Tascam DR10CS/DR10L combo for ceremonies

Wanted to follow up on the DR10L. I used these on several weddings and other gigs over the course of 2017 and absolutely love them.

I still use 2 G3s that I route into my rear camera wide safety...

Re: X70 top handle replacement.

Thanks! I picked it up. Hopefully it works!

I was going to say, I don't really need it because my sennheiser shock mount fits on there, but having it just for completeness is nice, especially, if...

X70 top handle replacement.

Is it possible to just buy the XLR handle?

I picked up a used x70 w/ 4K upgrade installed today because it was a killer deal ($875) at the local shop, but it didn't have the handle attachment.

Re: 3 new Sony 4K palm camcorders

I have an XA20 and a CX900 right now.

I have to say I really prefer the control layout on the body of the Sony over the Canon.

So just based on that, I'll probably go with the new Sony's. For...

Re: Canon USA launches three 4K UHD handheld camcorders

Looks like the XA series to me....

I wonder how this will compare to the Sony AX100 and X70.

It's about time for Sony to update the AX100 isn't it?

Re: Former/Current Tape Users - archived footage question

When I started this, we had 3 of us involved in weddings and we all used MiniDV.

When we broke apart the business in 2008, one of the guys kept on filming and took all the tapes.

Just recently,...

Re: DSLR and a Steadicam workflow

That would be interesting to see.

But I'm guessing it's just the regular Full time AF like they've always had.

If it were a new fangled video focus system like canons dpaf, I would have...

Re: DSLR and a Steadicam workflow

I use a Nikon D7200 with a Tokina 11-16 at 5.6 on a Glidecam HD2000.

Works most of the time. I set focus and then try to stay about whatever distance away, usually 6-8 feet I guess.

Being at...
