New DM shoulder mount for EX3

Jeff has just sent me an email with information on his new shoulder brace for the EX3.

This looks like a vast improvement on the first model, at least now it's contoured around the shape of your shoulder. The base plate is a one piece construction with the shoulder brace section attaching via a set of four screws. Hopefully this should be easy to remove when using the camera on a tripod.

Take a look for yourselves.

At the moment I am using the DM EX3 Reinforcement plate, which gives a lot more stability to the camera but I would have preferred a one piece construction as in the new shoulder brace.

looks an awful lot like mine! Works well but it's a bit long and needs a fair amount of weight at the back to make it balance with the Sony wise angle on.

I have the original DM plate. It's a pity the new rear section isn't quickly demountable, as I'd upgrade. I need to take it on and off Steadicam all the time.

I also thought about this, especially for tripod mounte work. However, the rear section looks like it could be easily adapted for a quick removal. I shall wait until the unit arrives so I can take a look and see how feasible this would be.

Evan,

I prefer your design! I made one also and I use the offsetting weight.
BTW, the prices on some of these things are SILLY.

Thanks Dan! Yeah not too hard to fabricate if you have the time! I think the Dm stuff is good & ready to go & not too expensive...bit easier I suppose!!
