PASSION - the best 60 second film ever

A PASSION FOR FILMMAKING

http://scottspears.net/video/passion.mpg

This is the best 60 seconds I've seen in a long while. Shot 16mm by Scott Spears, and written/directed by John Whitney. The film answers the question "what does a director do in their spare time?"

Hahaha, nice.. something tells me if there was ever a 'Jackass' made by filmmakers, it would be something like that.

Sharon Fraats February 22nd, 2004 02:36 PM

Good, Better than Good Great....naw it was.....

"ROFWL" I very rarely give that award out.......

Charles Papert February 22nd, 2004 07:47 PM

Yup, very very funny!

Peter John Ross February 22nd, 2004 09:40 PM

I love John WHitney's directoral style. Very dry wit.

Robert Knecht Schmidt February 22nd, 2004 10:07 PM

Hey Peter,

Where is Hollywood, Ohio? Does it have a big sign marking it?

Peter John Ross February 22nd, 2004 10:39 PM

No, it's a suburb of Wadsworth Ohio.

The Hollwood sign here is on a small hill next to the Luthern Church. It was made by the Amish.

Rick Bravo February 22nd, 2004 11:08 PM

EXCELLENT...

although,

I think Scott could have held out for a little more of a nuance from the cemetary bust!

Peter John Ross February 26th, 2004 02:46 PM

sweeeeeeeet

Marty Martin February 26th, 2004 06:17 PM

I thought this was definitely funny. Seen a lot of stuff similar to this, but it was still funny. I felt like there should have been a bit more. I think overall I felt like it wasn't carried out as far as it could have been.

But I definitely got a laugh out of it!

Donald Gregory February 29th, 2004 06:54 PM

Even though I've seen it several times now, I still get a chuckle out of it.

Kevin Maistros March 2nd, 2004 08:16 AM

Made me giggle. The B&W clips seemed a bit blurry to me, but hey it's fun.

Also, for a second there I thought your signature was a link to www.sonnybono.com but.. I read it too fast, haha.

Peter John Ross March 2nd, 2004 08:41 AM

Yikes! Sonny Bono?

Ken Tanaka March 2nd, 2004 11:30 AM

That was funny! If the ASC Store ever wanted to run an ad, this would be it!

Thank you for sharing it with us. I know I really needed the laugh today.

Kyle Kauss March 5th, 2004 10:01 AM

yeah it was pretty funny

Jonathan Pike March 5th, 2004 03:35 PM

Haha

Haasim Mahanaim March 6th, 2004 03:09 PM

VERY COOL!

With the sunglassess you errily resemble Steven Soderbergh. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Peter John Ross March 10th, 2004 11:46 AM

Uhhh

That's not me. That's really Steven Soderberg as the "director".

Well don't I have egg shells on my face.

*Embarassed, Haasim deletes the cookie file for dvInfo.net, never again to return.*

EDIT: *Haasim watches the video again and contemplates if John Ross was pulling his leg.*

Peter John Ross March 10th, 2004 03:12 PM

Don't - I'm kidding - that's not Soderberg, it's a PA on a few shoots John Whitney did. His name escapes me. I was just upset someon thought that was ME!
