Hey guys, just finished a new short. Please let me know what you think.

I liked it! Made me laugh more than once and go "that's a nice shot" a few times too!

The filmmaker part of me did wonder if this was a testing ground for a range of trick shots, although they all fit the story and the style and didn't detract in any way- it just reminded me of watching a Michel Ghondri flick! The chest-cam shot where he's walking out to fetch the mail worked quite well although having the angle a little lower and looking up a bit might've been more dramatic (although we probably would've seen more sky that way... ). The road shot was good (if a little long) and a change of scenery- over grass or sand or gravel- would've added interest and played to the surrealism nicely. And I loved the deceptive "mail on the table" bit where you used a balcony- nice way to alter the perspective for the shot.

Music was great and fit the bill perfectly. Great use of depth of field on some shots like the opening and the lighting worked well throughout. I'm not normally a fan of handheld, but this wasn't overly chaotic and the slight movement kinda fit the mood and the story.

Overall, loved it. Out of interest, how did you do the road shot and position the camera steady over him?

As for the shot over the road, we had him lay down on an old furniture dolly and had the cameraman stand on the dolly over him, we used a shoulder support to try and keep it still and then had somebody pull the dolly down the road. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if you have any more questions.
