Surfing at Australia's Gold Coast
Shot this on the Sony FDR-AX53. Was a great day for hitting the beaches at Duranbah, Burleigh Heads, Snapper Rocks and Currumbin.

Has Vimeo switched to Flash?
If so, that's a bummer... |
Re: Surfing at Australia's Gold Coast
Loved it, some of those surfers are so tuned to their boards, its amazing.
I noticed some slo mo in the middle of some shots, how was that achieved? |
Re: Surfing at Australia's Gold Coast
Thanks for your compliments. It was good practice for tracking the action.
Slow-mo was achieved by shooting at 120fps, dropping that clip on a 30p timeline and stretching the clip until it is 4x its original length. This is how I do it in Sony Vegas Pro 13. There're other techniques in Vegas, like adjusting the velocity tool, which is nice if you want to ramp up/down in speed. I was surprised at the skill of some of those young kids out there. Mark |
