Thanks for the kind words, Michael.

I have a few stop-mo apps for my Mac but currently use FrameThief more than anything else - I find each has as many drawbacks as advantages (FrameThief's biggest that you can only delete the last frame). There's no clear winner yet, in my opinion.

Did you simply click the photo button each time? Did you set it to interval mode?

No, it's connected to my Mac the whole time and providing a live video feed. The frames are captured by the animation app on the computer.

What are the advantages of using a GL2 over an 8 mega-pixel still camera with a much greater resolution?

The reasons vary: many still cameras don't have a live preview, only the higher end have manual (actual hands-on manual) focus and/or zoom control, substantial light flicker (I don't exactly understand why but it's true) and the shutters can wear out.

Even so, the situation is improving. The Nikon D70 seems to be the running favourite with amateurs and semi-pros - I'm saving up for one.
