I was thinking about this the other day. I'm debating on wether or not the person who issues the criteria for the challenge should sit that one out. They are just for fun and learning, but at the same time the person who gives out the challenge has prior knowledge to what it will be. I'm not saying that people will try to cheat, I just don't think it's as fun when you don't have that sense of going into the unknown and coming out with a film a week (or more, or less) later.

What do you guys think?

Alex, I think you should be a part of it. Maybe we can have someone who can't be a part of it (like Jeff) come up with the theme.

It's all in good fun, and the more submissions we have... the better.

Hey guys, I was really looking forward to participating in this, but I just don't have the time until after the 26th of January. I'm in the middle of a pre production proposal package for a producer and that's taking up every moment of my free time until the meeting date! So, if we can't push it until after then, I gotta sit this one out, sorry.

i'd be happy to be the objective person to come up with a theme for you guys. just let me know if you want me to, and when to post it.

If Alex is in agreement then I think that's a great idea. That way Alex won't feel like he's "cheating" and he'll also submit something. The more the merrier...

If everything is cool with him... I say you post the theme on Friday!

I would also allow others to join in up to Monday. That gives a few stragglers the opportunity to catch this over the weekend.
