My Trailer

Ight, I'll be brief...

Below is a trailer to a movie that i did for FUN! This "project" took me forever to make and I made it all by my self! Shoot, direct, plan, edit, lighting, sound, crafty, casting, locations etc... It became a love hate relationship making this film. I ran into alot of problems and ive learned alot of things not to do again! For the amount of hell and pain i had to go threw to make this... its good enough for what it is! So go easy on me!

TOOLS USED:
one basic DVX100A (35mm NOT used!!!)
Velbon CX-686 tripod
Lowel light kit
Bizounce
Sony wire ECM-44B lav mic
premier1.0

Wow man... for a second there I really thought I was watching a preview to a blockbuster movie! Great job

My only suggestion would be that the slo-mo scenes could use some touch up with Twixtor or something, but other than that I really enjoyed it. Also, the car scene driving through the train cars was a little overused for me. I really liked the colors you used, and it seemed to have a nice "film look" that everyone's going for now-a-days.

Good grief! What an incredible piece of work. That's just sick.
You should be very proud of what you did.

Tunde Anjorin January 30th, 2007 10:43 PM

Hey Ozan first up great work! Do I believe you did all that work your self? Hell yeah I do, because I'm doing the same thing myself right now.

I feel your pain brother and once again keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!

Just incase your wondering what I'm talking about. Here is a link to my trailer and my myspace site.

looks really good...

how long is the final version of the movie?
Which 35mm adapter did u use?

Mike Horrigan January 31st, 2007 10:49 AM

Awesome trailer! I think I recognize some of the music from another movie... are you allowed to do that?

EDIT: One thing though... this definitely wasn't shot just for "FUN"
You put a lot of time and effort into this...

Mike

It was exceptional...

Way to go BC-Boy!

:)

I know this is an old topic, but I would love to know how he pulled off the shallow depth of field from a DVX100 with no lens adapters. Does anyone know?

Alex Sprinkle October 16th, 2007 05:40 PM

He said he used After Effects 6.5. My guess is a simple layer duplication, and mask out a layer to be blurred. Keyframing wouldn't be fun, but it never is.

Mark Williams October 16th, 2007 05:44 PM

That was really cool.

Marcus Marchesseault October 16th, 2007 07:32 PM

What ever happened with this movie? Did it go to film festivals? Where is the feature now?

Allen Ellis October 17th, 2007 01:18 PM

I heard it wasn't ever a movie - that the trailer was just made for fun and there's no movie to go with it. That's why there are credits at the end of the trailer.

Key framing? Really? Can you imagine doing that for the whole video?

I have a suspicious feeling that would never work. Maybe.... it would take a VERY long time to do.

Simone Maurice October 18th, 2007 07:37 AM

Impressive! Quick question though... in the list Bizounce is mentioned. I haven't yet come across this... what is it exactly? Anyone know?

Adam Letch October 19th, 2007 08:17 PM

Ozan that was

one of the best trailers/posts I've watched in a long time, and it gives great satisfaction to know you don't need a $300k camera to shoot it.

Very impressed, when where and how is it being released?

Regards

Adam
